Series AA1/55 Photographs captioned Sandover Creek (NT) |
| Quantity | 0.1 cm, 3 photographic prints |
| Provenance | Aborigines' Friends' Association |
| Description | This series comprises three photographs, probably taken by Ernest E Kramer (see AA 669). The three black and white (b/w) photographic prints in this series appear to have been taken on the 'North Tour 1934' and depict the women's and children's camp and the men's camp at Allalgara Station, Sandover Creek. They are each mounted on part of a sheet of Aborigines' Friends' Association letterhead paper with annotations written on the paper. The prints are stored in a binder titled 'AA 1 Aborigines' Friends' Association (AFA) Photographic Prints, Album 3 of 4'. South Australian Museum archivist Kay L Mead described this series in 1980. In her listing she recorded a caption for this series; 'Taudover Creek', which appears to be in error due to the illegible handwriting of the annotations. The caption has been corrected and is listed as 'Sandover Creek' in the 'Series Title' and has been listed in the 'Details' field of the inventory along with all annotations found on the prints. All place names and proper names from the annotations and caption have been indexed. The series was part of Acc. No. 86. This series contains references to: Northern Territory. This item includes reference to the following named group: 'Illyauara'. Tindale Tribes: Iliaura. This corresponds to AIATSIS Language Groups: Alyawarre. See also Ernest E and Euphemia Kramer (AA 669). |
